It’s been way way way too long since we’ve done a marry, date, or dump and I’ve just been reading the three most perfect YA romances to pick our boys from. We’ve got Ambrose from Sarah Dessen’s new book Once and for All, Teddy from Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith, and last (but certainly not least!) Peter K. from Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. If you want to play along, say who you would marry, date, and dump in the comments. My answer are…
Happy Monday, friends! Over the last five feverish, ouchy-throated days I have, of course, watched both Pride and Prejudice adaptations. So I’ve got Jane Austen on the brain! I’ve done a lot of Austen combinations in past Marry Date or Dumps, but I don’t think I’ve done this one. This is frankly shocking because I think about it a lot. We’ve got Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, and Colonel Fitzwilliam. At first, it seems pretty straight forward. But people can have very different, very strident opinions when it comes to these men. One of my favorite English teachers in high school strongly felt that Colonel Fitzwilliam was the best man of the bunch. Let me know who you’d pick by writing who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you’d dump in the comments! Continue reading
Hi friends! I’ve missed Marry, Date or Dump so I thought I’d do a few in October. I’ve been wanting to reread Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children for awhile. I read it during a confusing/grumpy time, and I’m worried my feelings about life seeped into how I felt about the book. So many people I know love this one and now there is a movie! When faced with the characters from the series, who would you marry? Who would you date? And, finally, who would you dump? Let me know your answers in the comments. Continue reading
I know this pairing is totally random, but I just picked three idealized (but occasionally obsessive) romantic male characters to choose from this week. We have Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and Edward Cullen from Twilight and Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby. All seem like they would be fun, but potentially perilous, to date. Let me know who you’d marry, who you’d date, and who you’d dump in the comments!
Does anyone else ever think of Harry Potter when then think of Christmas? Instead of book characters, I thought we might want to marry, date, and dump Hogwarts houses. This is going to be a tough one for me, but I super excited to see what choices you make. Let me know in comments! Continue reading
I took three of my favorite YA contemporary novels from this year for today’s marry, date, or dump. You can choose from Peter K. from P.S. I Still Love You, by Jenny Han, Ollie from Everything, Everything, by Nicola Yoon, and Max from The Start of Me and You, by Emery Lord. Time to decide who you want to marry, who you want to date, and who you want to dump – then let me know your choices in the comments!
Happy Monday! Who had a nice holiday weekend? I hope everyone. I rewatched (both) Bridget Jones movies last week and definitely have Darcy on the brain. I thought it’s be fun pick three versions of Mr. Darcy to marry, date, or dump this week. I decided on Mr. Darcy from the book (or traditional movie adaptation if you like!), Mark Darcy from Bridget Jones (sawoon), and William Darcy from The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Let me know who you’d marry, date and dump in the comments!
