Happy Friday before Halloween! I hope some of you have some spooky plans this weekend! In honor of the holiday, for this marry, date or dump I chose characters from three scary (but not too scary) books. We’ve got Dr. Frankenstein – not to be confused with Frankenstein’s monster- from Mary Shelley’s classic. We’ve got Dracula, and then we’ve got Dr. Jekyll. In the comments say who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump.  Continue reading

Marry, Date or Dump: Dumplin’, Everything Everything, & Red Queen

Screen Shot 2015-09-27 at 1.41.35 PM

I was a little stumped trying to find a topic for today’s marry date or dump and so I looked at the top three YA books on the New York Times YA best seller list. Can we all just take a moment to be excited about the strong, diverse female characters written by female author that appear at the top of this list. At first, I thought I’d give you the love interests, but the protagonists of all three books seemed so much more interesting – so the choice is up to you if you want to do the boys or the girls, but I’m going to pick between Willowdean, Madeline, and Mare Barrow. Try to keep spoilers out of your comments, especially because I haven’t read Dumplin’ yet!  Continue reading

Marry, Date or Dump: Quentin, Ben & Radar from Paper Towns

Screen Shot 2015-07-27 at 8.19.40 AM

I am waiting for a few weeks so I can watch Paper Towns with my sister, like I did with The Fault in Our Stars. But I am so so happy about the good reviews and can’t wait to see it. In honor of the movie, I want to see who you’d marry and who you’d date and who you’d dump when it comes to Quentin, Ben, and Radar. I’m excited to see who you pick!  Continue reading

Marry, Date or Dump: The Marauders

The_Marauders

Happy Monday friends! There is something about the Halloween to Christmas season that puts Hogwarts on my mind. I mean honestly, there is something about any time of year that puts Hogwarts on my mind, but I think it is there more during the holiday season. I thought it would be fun to see which of the Marauders everyone would marry, date, or dump. I decided to leave Wormtail/Peter pettigrew off the list, because everyone would dump him (although if you disagree please explain yourself in the comments!). So your choices are James Potter (Prongs), Sirius Black (Padfoot), and Remus Lupin (Moony). I’m still making my mind up so I’m excited to see who you pick!

I’ve been picking YA characters for the last few weeks, so I thought today I’d up the age factor and give you three literary father figures to choose from. Your choices are between Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mocking Bird, Pa Ingalls from the Little House series, and Mr. Bennet from Pride and Prejudice.  Let me know in the comments who you would marry, who you would date, and who you would dump.

Marry, Date or Dump: The Men from Little Women

jo-and-laurieWhen you think of Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott, the first thing you think about is the women, right? I mean it is right in the title. Women. However, part of what made the book exciting, and at times infuriating (I’m looking at you Jo), is the men in the books and wondering which man each girl was going to end up with. Since I’ve already done a marry, date or dump for the March sisters, I thought it would be fun to see who you’d choose between Laurie, Mr. Brooke, and Frederich Bhaer. Let me know in the comments!  Continue reading
